Leadership HEB

Leadership HEB is a program for the development of community leaders in the Hurst Euless Bedford area. Participants will increase their knowledge of the community while learning team building skills that are applicable to all areas of life.

In addition to attending informative class sessions and completing a class project, participants will also enjoy a day trip to Austin and will attend a city council meeting.  Following an orientation in September, classes will be held throughout the fall, winter and spring, usually one or two Thursdays a month from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Here’s what some recent graduates said about the program:

“As a long time H-E-B resident and community supporter, I applied to the Leadership HEB program with the expectations of meeting new, like-minded people, sharpening my leadership skills, and hoped to gain a little more insight about the growth and development of our three great cities. This goal was met, and, to my excitement, met again and again, each course with more inspired detail than the last. The activities we participated in allowed us to learn from dynamic, influential leaders within industries of significance that keep the area we live and work not only successful but thriving. Leadership HEB has developed me in my personal and professional life and I will continue to support and advocate for this program.”

Lindsey Colorado, SERVPRO Hurst-Euless-Bedford, Class of 2019

“The 2014 Leadership Class has been an incredible experience for me personally.  I’ve been able to see a unique perspective of what is going on behind the scenes in our area and I’ve been able to meet some amazing people, who’ve become great friends along the way.  The offsite trips to the JPS Hospital and the Fire Academy in Fort Worth were my favorite, because of what I learned throughout the tours.  Overall, the HEB Leadership experience was definitely a great investment for myself both personally and professionally and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering participating in the future.”

Bobby Carr, BB&T Bank, Class of 2014

Most beneficial for me, by far, is the continued connection to each and every participant. The opportunity to connect to the movers and shakers of the mid-cities continues to bless not just me but my family, their businesses, my co-workers, their families, and even my boss who thought enough of me to send me through Leadership. Maybe you think you don’t have enough time; why not send that extra special employee? Yes, that one that just entered your mind. Tell them you appreciate what they do for you and your business. Start a competition! With Leadership HEB-everyone wins.”

Nicole Pollard, Benenati Law Firm, Class of 2014

“Each month’s special event was awesome.  The Challenge Course was physically demanding but loads of fun.  My favorite besides the Challenge Course was the tour of JPS Hospital led by the President, Mr. Early. Everything was well planned and a positive learning experience. Thank you, HEB Chamber, for this opportunity to increase my leadership skills.”
