At our Membership Luncheon last week, we took time to recognize some of our valued members. The Member of the Month for June was Eric Gachelin with Congrowence, Inc. He was the chairman of our EXPO, which was held in June and was a great success. The July Member of the Month is Jason Barnes with Guild Mortgage. A newer member, he has quickly gotten involved, attending many ribbon cuttings and supporting us on social media. And our Ambassador of the Second Quarter is Deb Ferguson with Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc. She jumped right in to this role, helping check in on our current members and even helping bring in some new members. Our thanks to all three individuals for their contributions on behalf of the Chamber. Please join us in congratulating them on their awards!
The Chamber is pleased to recognize two Members in April
The Member of the Month for March is Russell Taylor. He has been a member for a few years, but he has gotten really involved lately. He recently became a Chamber Ambassador, attending many of our events. He also helped at Member Appreciation Day last year. Being so active in the Chamber, he must be a very smart businessman. And it’s true – in fact, his business is named Smart Realty. So congratulations to Russell – a smart guy and a great Chamber member.
The Ambassador of the First Quarter is Deb Ferguson with Century 21 Mike Bowman. She has been a real powerhouse for the Chamber. For example, she serves as captain for the Member Relations Team, helping create a lot of enthusiasm among the Ambassadors. She encourages them to put a personal touch on their contacts with members, and does the same when she makes her own contacts. Congratulations to Deb for all her great work supporting both our members and her fellow Ambassadors.
Our October Member of the Month is Jana Autrey with El Pollo Loco in Bedford. She is relatively new to the Chamber and did not enter our recent Chili Challenge. But even so, she was a huge help at the event, arriving early to help set up, pitching in throughout the evening and even staying late to help clean up afterward. She’s also been involved with a number of other Chamber events. So for being a “key ingredient” of our Chili Challenge, and for “bowling us over” with her Chamber enthusiasm, we recognize Jana as our Member of the Month. Please join us in congratulating her!
In September, we held our 62nd Annual Birthday Bash. We had a great event, with a wonderful turnout, a lot of fun and even an adorable puppy. The success of the event is due in no small part to the efforts of Eric Gachelin with Congrowence. He did a little bit of everything, from helping round up auction items to making a promotional video. He even helped us get our entertainer for the night, magician Jeff Lee. He’s also active in one of our Leads Groups. So for all the magic he worked in helping make the Birthday Bash a success, Eric is our September Member of the Month. Thanks and congratulations, Eric!
Margaret Hall, of Strategic Wealth Management, is a longtime member of the Chamber, and a longtime contributor! She regularly attends luncheons and after-hours events, and she’s at almost every ribbon cutting. As an Ambassador, she’s very diligent about making Care Calls and turning in her documentation – in fact, in July alone, she made 10 calls. Because she brings a “wealth” of experience and energy to the Chamber, she’s was named the Member of the Month for July. Margaret was recognized at the recent HEB Chamber Luncheon held in Hurst.
At the most recent luncheon held by the HEB Chamber of Commerce, LaWonda Peoples of Eventfully Yours was named the Chamber Member of the Month for May, 2017. LaWonda is relatively new to the Chamber, but even so, she has plunged right in. She’s been particularly helpful working on our upcoming EXPO, helping bring in several new exhibitors. She fully appreciates how important this event is for the Chamber, no doubt in part because she herself is an expert in events. So please join us in congratulating her as our honoree for May!
During the recent luncheon held at the First United Methodist Church of Hurst, the HEB Chamber of Commerce announced their choices for the “April Members of the Month.” The honorees were Linda Siegert and Donna Thomas of EECU. They are a dynamic duo of ladies who have done much to support the Chamber in the past.
They were particularly helpful in April at our golf event, where they volunteered to work at our “Bubba Hole.” (In case you don’t know, the Bubba Hole is where golfers can, for an oh-so-reasonable fee, move up to a closer tee.) Thank you to Linda and Donna for the great work they did in helping our golfers discover their “inner Bubba.”
During the most recent luncheon held at the First United Methodist Church of Hurst, the HEB Chamber of Commerce named Diane Roberts of Pinnacle ER the Chamber Member of the Month for March, 2017.
Diane is very active in the Chamber. She serves as an ambassador, attending many ribbon cuttings, and she also chairs one of our Leads Groups. Additionally, she is a regular attendee of our luncheons, Business After Hours and WILD. Everything she is involved in, she does with a smile and enthusiasm, brightening the day of members and everyone else she encounters. You might say she is ready for almost any Chamber emergency — which should not be surprising, since she works for an emergency clinic! Thank you Diane! We appreciate your involvement and service in the community!
Kevin Ball of KB Handyman and Home Services was recently named the October Chamber Member of the Month.
The honoree for October was an easy choice, because he worked so hard during the month on behalf of the Chamber’s community efforts. He served as captain of the Chamber team that participated in 6 Stones Mission Network’s fall CPR event. He helped organize the team, and surveyed the house where the team would be working. This was critical to be done in advance to determine what needed to be done. Kevin also provided many of the tools used during the scope of the project.
It’s important to note, that he didn’t just supervise the operation, he was very much a hands-on leader. Kevin worked hard both days, helping cut trees, clear debris and much more. He’s a great handyman, and an outstanding Chamber member. Thank you for your many efforts, Kevin! The Chamber and its members appreciate you!
Congratulations to the HEB Chamber’s September and October Members of the Month: Sue Schulz and Ruth Burns of What’s Poppin’ Texas.
Sue and Ruth worked very hard to support the Chamber over the last couple of months. They’ve brought in new members and were heavily involved in the Birthday Bash, donating auction items, helping secure additional items and even helped with setting up the event. They work very well together, which isn’t surprising, because they also work together in their business.
If you’ve ever asked yourself, “I wonder What’s Poppin’?” then head to Central Dr in Bedford and find out or click here to review their website.
