Have you heard about Mission Central’s new STEPS program?

After spending a year talking to their guests and gathering information about their challenges and needs, Mission Central designed a new program to address what they told us.

STEPS (Self Transformation Equals Personal Success) was launched this past fall. This program provides job, budget, and financial management coaching for working families. The participants in this program are most likely already working — sometimes in more than one job, but they are still not making enough to prosper.

Program participants are encouraged to think about their dream job and receive help in making a plan toward achieving that job. They also receive help with skills like resume writing, interviewing for a job, budgeting, saving money, and repairing poor credit.

Mission Central is currently providing coaching and referral services to STEPS participants, but we hope to add more services to the program in 2018. Some of the services that could help families get a step ahead include helping with transportation costs to work or school, providing matching funds for education programs, or assisting with expenses relating to preparing for a job interview.

In order to begin adding these services in 2018, they need a strong finish in 2017. You can help by making a donation today. All donations made by December 31 are tax-deductible for 2017 and will help them reach their goal of raising $25,000 by the end of the year.

You can give someone a step up in 2018 by supporting Mission Central today.
