Have you enjoyed your Chamber membership? Would you like to help other business owners learn how helpful membership can be? If so, you may want to join the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee.

As an ambassador, you get to represent the Chamber at key community events, including ribbon-cuttings, luncheons and Business After Hours meetings. You can help visitors feel welcome, answer questions about the Chamber and explain the many benefits of membership.

Ambassadors must be available to attend the monthly committee lunch meetings, held at 11:30 a.m. the first Thursday of every month at Witten’s Grill & Sports Pub, 1121 W. Pipeline Road, Hurst, 76053. (Lunch is on your own.) You’ll also need to attend at least four of our membership luncheons.

Taylor RosenthalAt this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, 2 graduates of the YEA! program will be making an appearance. Taylor Rosenthal is the 14-year-old CEO of RecMed, a company that produces vending machines that allow quick and easy access to critical medical supplies and first aid kits. His invention is geared towards applications in fitness centers, amusement parks, and sporting events. Taylor was made famous last year for turning down a $30 million offer to buy his company. He also had a day of the year dedicated to him by Mayor Gary Fuller (R) in his hometown of Opelika, Alabama last month.

Brandon BoyntonAlso featured in the show is Brandon Boynton, a graduate of the Madison County, Indiana class. Through YEA!, Brandon created The Bully Bøx, a mobile app that allows students to safely and anonymously report incidents of bullying in their schools. Reports submitted by students are automatically forwarded, via email, to designated school administrators for investigation. Currently, Brandon’s app is available to over 75,000 students in 17 states and 4 countries. Brandon was also a finalist in the 2014 Saunders Scholars Competition, and was recently named the winner of the 2016 Appreneur Scholar Award for his outstanding work. The Bully Bøx will be recognized during the Mobile App Showdown and Transforming EDU Summit at CES on January 8.
