For the sixth consecutive legislative session, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce plans to take Chamber members to Austin early in the 84th Legislative Session to meet with legislators and agency staff on policy issues important to the Chamber. Again this year, the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Chamber of Commerce will be partners in this venture.
Individual registration and sponsorships are available now.The dates for Arlington to Austin are January 27-29, 2015. This includes a reception Tuesday, January 27 at the Doubletree Guest Suites, 303 W. 15th Street for all in attendance and all members of the Legislature and selected state agencies. The agenda will include meetings at the Texas State Capitol with members of the Arlington and HEB legislative delegations along with other selected leaders. Most meetings will be Wednesday, January 28, with any that couldn’t be scheduled carried over to Thursday morning, January 29. We will complete all scheduled meetings by 11:30 a.m. Thursday.In addition to the reception, the Chamber will provide breakfast and lunch at the Doubletree Wednesday and breakfast Thursday mornings, with speakers invited for each of these meals. State Representative John Zerwas, a key member of the House leadership and a leader on health care policy, has tentatively agreed to speak to the delegation at breakfast on Wednesday, January 28.
