Letter from the President
Looking Back at 2011
What a year it's been at the HEB Chamber with so many opportunities for members to promote their business and reach new clients and customers! Our members' investments have paid off in making the Hurst Euless Bedford area a better place to live and do business.
Under the awesome leadership of Chairman Linda Caram of AT&T and the Board of Directors, the Chamber has held 10 membership luncheons, 11 Business After Hours, three seminars, four networking skills breakfasts, more than 40 ribbon cuttings, a State of the Cities breakfast, and at least 150 meetings of sales leads groups.
After years of bringing the area's transportation needs to the attention of elected officials and the Texas Department of Transportation, work has begun on the Airport Freeway, or as it is now called, the North Tarrant Express. The Chamber will continue to keep members and the community apprised of the progress on the roadway and lane closures. Monthly updates will be held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. here at the Chamber, beginning on January 26.
In addition, the Community Alliances Committee has lead members in supporting the Backpack program and Christmas presents for HEB ISD disadvantaged students through the 6 Stones Mission Network.
Members and community leaders were honored at the Annual Awards Gala in September at the beautiful new Hurst Conference Center. The Gala, as well as the Golf Tournament at Texas Star and the Business 2 Business EXPO, had record attendance and sponsors. Mark your calendars for the 2012 EXPO – Friday, February 24.
2011 is winding down and I am very proud of the accomplishments of the HEB Chamber and its members. Look for even more opportunities and progress in 2012!
